Flame Reading

 

Flame reading is exactly as it sounds--telling the future by reading the flames.

Steady Flame - the situation looks clean, clear, stable

Flickering (no draft) - lots of energy, resistance or unstable foundation for the magick

Sparking/Jumping - magick is strong, but is also meeting strong resistance

Double Flame - someone/something is working against your purpose

Doesn't Burn/Goes Out - there are energies blocking your work. Cleanse and start a new candle if it persists

High Flame - spell is effective and strong

Low Flame - your space and/or you need cleansing, some energy conflicts with the purpose of your candle

Candle Only Burns on One Side - candle will be half as effective. Finish the burn and set a new candle after cleansing

Entire Top of Candle Lights on Fire - spell is effective, but it is fighting off resistance

Extinguished and Candle Relights Itself - your protective spirits want you to keep going or you need to set some boundaries with a fire elemental, depending on what path you practice

Candle Makes Noise - the spirits are talking and negotiating for you

Releases Black Smoke - negative or resistant force

Excessively Slow Burn - resistance to the work or may take longer to see results

Candle Tips Over - restart the work

Jumping Flame - someone is angry

Candle Splits Down the Middle - introspection/internal work must happen for success
